About Deanna Mautz
Cannabis Nurse Consultant
Deanna Mautz, BSN RN is a cannabis advocate and educator. She teaches clients how to find cannabis options tailored to their specific goals and how to use it properly to manage symptoms.
Deanna has been a Registered Nurse for thirteen years, working in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Public Health. Six years into her Nursing career her family was hit with a cancer diagnosis. Not once, but twice. And that is the path that led her to become a
Cannabis Nurse Consultant. She has taken numerous continuing education courses, seminars, and workshops on the topic. She is a member of American Cannabis Nurses Association and Cannabis Nurse Network.
Born and raised in Michigan, Deanna left home when she joined the United States Air Force at the age of 18. After serving in the military, she entered Nursing school. She started in the field with an Associates of Science, Nursing Degree from the College of the
Redwoods in Eureka, CA. She moved to Colorado after graduation. She went on to complete her Bachelors of Science through Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, CO.
Combining her love for health and wellness, her experience working in clinical settings, and continuing education courses she began consulting to guide clients to optimize wellness outcomes. Now she is making it her life’s work to help more people to reach optimal health through holistic and integrative options with a focus on evidence-based uses of cannabis. “The greatest part of being a nurse is being able to educate and empower others to live their best life, to be a part of their health journey,” says Deanna.
She resides in Western Colorado with her husband and 2 children, where they raise livestock and grow organic vegetables and plants. With all the work at home, they still find time to travel and adventure. They enjoy local trips exploring abandoned mines and
foraging for mushrooms, as well as exploring other cultures and foods internationally.
