Eating Real Food

Written by Ruby Laemmel, Marketing and Client Relations Manager

Food Starts With Soil

While traveling, I appreciate discovering restaurants that share our beliefs at Remission Nutrition about the importance of real food. The nutrients in our food originate from the soil and the methods used in its growth, harvesting, and processing. As a foodie, I love enjoying delicious, well-prepared food, especially when I know where the food is sourced. Farm-to-table dining is excellent, allowing for an immersive experience and providing insight into the "behind-the-scenes" aspects of the food being served.

Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains in San Jose Del Cabo is Flora Farms, a 25-acre working organic farm. Complete with greenery, boutique stores, a turtle pond, restaurant, bar, and so much more. During my visit to Flora, I was amazed by the lush gardens, the seasonal produce, the vibrant flowers, and the eclectic vibe. The way Flora treats its agricultural process is holistic, focusing on natural ways things grow and thrive. They sell their animal products and produce in their market and use them in the menu at the Flora Restaurant.

Flora Farm's Restaurant is a must-visit restaurant destination in San Jose, offering an engaging experience that feels like dining in the garden. The service and staff at the restaurant are attentive and kind, creating a positive dining experience. The food is nourishing, fresh, organic, and beautiful! My table received a gorgeous Burrata dish with vibrant tomatoes, and a fresh Himachi dish that melted in your mouth. For dinner, I had the Garden Salad with Chicken, which was delightful, nourishing, and perfect!

Eating food that is sourced holistically shows in its flavor; not only are the nutrients higher, but the taste is richer. Overall, my experience at Flora Farms was amazing. Between the food, the setting, and the people, I had a lovely night!

Support Local, Support Healing

The food at Flora is local, which is a crucial factor in promoting the healing properties of our food. Here's why:

  • Nutritional Density: Local food is harvested at peak ripeness, meaning it contains more nutrients and enzymes.

  • Seasonal Eating: Aligns with the body's needs during different times of the year —cooling foods in summer, grounding foods in winter.

  • Environmental Impact: Fewer transportation emissions, less packaging, and support for soil health.

  • Community Connection: Knowing your farmer fosters trust, transparency, and shared values.

  • Energy & Vitality: Freshly picked food still carries its life force—something deeply aligned with metabolic healing.

Eating good food is essential. Seek out local farms and markets wherever you live. Prioritize food grown with care, not chemicals. Remember that healing is not only what we eat, but also how and where it is sourced.
